From the royal looms of Mysore to your wardrobe — with love, from our family to yours.
Since the Looms of 1912
Mysore silk was born in 1912, when Maharaja Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV established Mysore's first silk weaving factory. More than a century later, it remains India's most celebrated silk — the only one protected by a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, woven from fine mulberry silk raised in the old Mysore region of Karnataka.
What makes it unmistakable? A liquid sheen no other silk carries, a weight that drapes rather than hangs, and real zari — precious-metal thread, not plastic imitation. A true Mysore silk saree outlives fashions; it is passed from mother to daughter, and it still shines.
Kamakshi Collections began with a simple frustration: too many "silk" sarees in the market are blends — polyester dressed up as heritage. We decided our family would sell only the real thing, and prove it every single time.
Founded by Savita R., we started with pure Mysore silk exhibitions in Bengaluru, meeting customers face to face, letting them feel the silk, see the zari, and check the certification tag with their own hands. Word spread. Today, our Instagram family of 70,000+ saree lovers shops with us from every corner of India and abroad — over WhatsApp, with live photos and videos of every saree before they pay.
We remain deliberately small and personal. No warehouses of mass-produced stock — just carefully chosen sarees, each one original and Silk Mark certified, each one something we would proudly drape ourselves. That is our tagline, and our promise: simply elegant.
The Silk Mark is the official purity certification of the Silk Mark Organisation of India, an initiative of the Central Silk Board under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Certified silk is laboratory-tested — fibre identification, burn and solubility tests — and tagged with a tamper-proof hologram carrying a unique serial number. Every saree we sell ships with this tag attached, along with your purchase invoice. You can verify it independently at silkmarkindia.com. If it isn't pure silk, it isn't Kamakshi.
100% pure mulberry silk with the Silk Mark hologram tag on every single saree — no exceptions, no blends, ever.
Before you pay, we send photos and videos of your exact saree in natural light — the colour you see is the colour you receive.
You talk directly to us — the same people who select every saree at the loom and pack every parcel with our own hands.
